Polo – Friday 23rd June

Polo

Yorkshire trio Polo (formed of vocalist Kat McHugh, Synth man Luke Lount and Drummer Dan Egdell) might hail from Leeds, but the groups glacial atmospherics and lush, r’n’b-tinged pop are an ethereal world away from the spit’n’sawdust DIY scene that the city’s best known for.

Formed in 2015, the band released hypnotic, woozily seductive debut single ‘Visions Of Fortune’ later that year and racked up performances at annual inner-city festivals such as Live At Leeds, Tramlines and Long Division, as well as supporting the likes of Bipolar Sunshine and Charlotte OC. After receiving the coveted PRS ‘Women make Music’ grant, Polo released their debut EP, ‘Alice’ in March 2017 via AWAL.

Influenced by the rich production of Anderson.Paak and the vocal stylings of NAO, Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse.

Catch them in Liverpool for one night only.

HMLTD – Thursday 5th October

HMLTD

Fresh off a sold-out headline date at Scala, HMLTD have announced their biggest shows to date with an October UK tour. Revealed during their highly anticipated performance at Field Day festival, the ten-date run will culminate with a performance at London’s Electric Ballroom on October 24th. Tickets go on sale June 7th at 9am.

This year has seen the London based, multinational six-piece emerge as one of the most original and closely followed new acts in the UK, receiving acclaim as well as a rabid, glitter-clad following for their shape-shifting, genre-defying sonics and mesmerizing, all-encompassing live shows, where the lines between performers and audience are ever-blurred.

The band’s latest single ‘To The Door’ and its flipside ‘Music’ have seen them flesh out their sound in exciting new ways, while continuing their relationship with video director Jenkin Van Zyl, for a surreal and hypnotic audio-visual assault on the senses.

Odyssey – Friday 5th May

Odyssey – Friday 5th May

O

After the success of our Launch Party and our Saint Patrick’s Day Party we return to The Magnet on the 5th May 2017 for Odyssey // Piem & Friends.

DJ’s include:

PIEM

Having been exposed to the sounds of the 90’s & early 2000’s House Music and making his DJ debut aged only 16, Catalan-born Piem joins us at Odyssey Liverpool for a night dedicated to the finest selections of Disco, Tech House and Techno Merseyside has to offer.

Piem is a firm favourite on the Barcelona club scene, performing at most of Barcelona’s popular and iconic venues and has become synonymous for his seemingly effortless performances delivering a real underground, crowd pleasing sound built on natural grooves & solid bass lines, earning himself residencies at the W Hotel Barcelona & CDLC Barcelona. Piem has also shared the decks with artists such as Technasia, Chus & Ceballos, Booka Shade, Danny Howells, Xpress-2, Andrea Oliva, Wally Lopez, Dosem, Roger Sanchez, Tuccillo, MK, Sandy Riviera and some other renown artists as well as performing at venues such as Club Space (Miami), Heart Nightclub (Miami), Space (Ibiza), Pacha (Ibiza), Jungle Experience (Thailand) and Fire & Lightbox (London).

Since his 1st release back in 2012 Piem has grown into his sound, securing himself releases on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, VIVa Limited, Toolroom, Glasgow Underground and Fashmob. Many of his productions have found themselves being supported, charted and in the playlists of many top artists such as Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli, Hot Since 82, Dubfire, Anja Schneider and Paco Osuna so it’s no surprise to find his music regularly being charted and climbing the Beatport & Traxsource charts.

KINNERMAN

Being considered Solardo’s ‘One to Watch for 2017’ is a clear indicator that Kinnerman is a talent to behold.

Having evolved from over a decades worth of experience behind the decks and producing to lead him to this point in his career, James Kininmonth, already well established on the scene, has moved into a new alias: Kinnerman. What he describes as a natural progression, it’s fair to say he has made a name for himself within the industry.

With numerous plays on BBC Radio 1 and gaining huge support from the likes of Richy Ahmed, De La Swing, Toni Varga, Solardo & Josh Butler to name a few, with releases already on Elrow Music and forthcoming productions on Josh Butler’s Imprint ‘Origins’, Under No Illusion and Jesse Perez’ – Mr Nice Guy Records, it’s no wonder he is in such high demand.

KØKKS & LEIN

Since their inception in 2016, Barcelona based House and Techno DJ and production duo Daniel Baydoun and Jorge García have been making noticeable waves in the underground dance music scene under their alias Kokks & Lein.

With signings to labels like Twisted Fusion, Freakin909, DKM Records, Whartone and more, they have quickly established themselves across some of the important labels in the game. Their music is also supported by Piem, Sonny Wharton, Under_Score and Kinnerman.

With gigs already lined up across Spain and UK is all set to achieve big things this year.

We will also have our resident DJs doing what they do best to ensure you have the best night possible.

Follakzoid – Wednesday 17th May

Follakzoid – Wednesday 17th May

F Magnet

Föllakzoid began in Santiago, Chile from what they describe as the result of, “a product of a trance experience between friends, sort of a soul abduction in which they’ve been living since 2008.” The band is made up of multi-faceted artists: Juan Pablo (bass, vocals) is a producer of the Sangre Fresca Music Festival in Santiago, Diego (drums) is a photograher, Alfredo (synth) is an architect, and Domingo (guitar) is also a filmmaker who just premiered his first feature length movie “Partir to Live”. They believe that there is some sort of gravitational force that makes South America able to dialogue directly with other places, times, and dimensions.
